Nokia has launched the new iPhone competitor, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic also knows as the Tube. The Smartphone includes the first Symbian S60 touchscreen phone.

The Nokia Tube is a music-centric device, says Nokia, and has a 3.2-inch haptic touch-screen, 3.2-megapixel AF camera with dual-LED flash, VGA front camera, A-GPS, HDSPA, up to 16GB of storage via microSD and some loud speakers with crystal clear sound.

It will have quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support plus UMTS/HSDPA on top of it with a Carl Zeiss lens, dual LED flash and geo-tagging support. The other connectivity options will include Wi-Fi b/g, stereo Bluetooth (A2DP) and USB 2.0 with a 3.5mm AV jack and TV output. The new Nokia BL-5J battery with a capacity of 1320 mAh will power the Nokia 5800.

The 5800 will be available in Europe by year’s end for 279 Euro/129 UK Pounds/$227 USD and it comes with a fancy plectrum-style stylus and an 8GB microSD. There are no carriers announced and it may be available from Nokia stores and online next year. This is also Nokia’s first Comes With Music phone, a service that offers unlimited music downloads for the first year of ownership.
